Terms of Service
Last updated: February 25, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Resumello website and application at resumello.app (the "Service"), operated by Resumello, a sole proprietorship based in Ontario, Canada ("we," "us," or "our").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Account Registration
To access the Service, you must create an account using a valid email address and password, or by authenticating through Google. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Notifying us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
You may not create multiple accounts to abuse promotions, circumvent purchase requirements, or evade enforcement actions.
3. Description of the Service
Resumello is a web-based resume and cover letter builder. The Service allows you to:
- Create, edit, and manage resumes and cover letters using professional templates.
- Export resumes as PDF and Word (.docx) documents.
- Assess resume ATS (Applicant Tracking System) compatibility.
- Import existing resumes from PDF or Word files.
- Sync resume data across devices via cloud storage.
Features may be added, modified, or removed over time. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain core functionality but do not guarantee that any specific feature will always be available.
4. Payment Terms
4.1 Pricing Plans
Resumello offers two payment options:
- Month Pass — a single, non-recurring payment that grants access to the Service for 30 days from the date of purchase. The Month Pass does not auto-renew. If you wish to continue using the Service after your pass expires, you may purchase a new Month Pass.
- Lifetime Plan — a one-time payment that grants perpetual access to the Service, including all current features and future updates, for as long as the Service continues to operate.
4.2 Early Bird Pricing
The Lifetime Plan may be offered at a reduced introductory ("early bird") price for a limited number of purchases. Once the early bird allocation is exhausted, the price will increase to the standard rate. The early bird price is determined at the time of checkout — we are not obligated to honor a previously displayed price if the allocation has been exhausted before your purchase is completed.
4.3 Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. All prices are listed in United States Dollars (USD). You are responsible for any applicable taxes, currency conversion fees, or bank charges.
4.4 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect existing Lifetime Plan holders. For the Month Pass, any price change will apply only to future purchases, not to an active pass.
5. Refund Policy
We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on all purchases. If you are unsatisfied with the Service for any reason, you may request a full refund within 7 calendar days of your purchase date by emailing [email protected].
- Refund requests received within 7 days of purchase will be honored — no questions asked.
- Refund requests received after 7 days will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion.
- Refunds are processed back to the original payment method via Stripe. Processing time depends on your bank or card issuer.
- Upon refund, your access to the Service will be revoked.
We reserve the right to modify the refund policy, including introducing additional conditions, if we determine that the policy is being abused. Any changes will apply only to future purchases and will be reflected in an updated version of these Terms.
6. User Content & Ownership
6.1 Your Content
You retain full ownership of all content you create using the Service, including resume text, cover letters, and any other information you enter ("User Content"). Resumello does not claim any ownership rights over your User Content.
6.2 Limited License to Us
By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you (e.g., syncing data across devices, rendering your resume in the preview panel, generating PDF/Word exports). We will not use your User Content for any other purpose.
6.3 Your Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of your User Content. You represent that your User Content does not infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any applicable law.
7. Template License
Upon purchase, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual (for Lifetime Plan) or time-limited (for Month Pass) license to use our resume and cover letter templates for the following purposes:
- Creating resumes and cover letters for your personal and professional use (e.g., job applications, freelancing, networking).
- Exporting and sharing your completed resumes in any format for the purpose of seeking employment or professional opportunities.
You may not:
- Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or make the templates available as standalone products or as part of a template collection.
- Use the templates to create a competing resume builder or similar service.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the template source code, design files, or layout structure.
- Claim authorship or ownership of the template designs.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights.
- Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other user accounts, or our systems.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or place undue burden on the Service or its infrastructure (e.g., automated scraping, denial-of-service attacks).
- Create false, misleading, or fraudulent resumes intended to deceive employers or circumvent background checks.
- Use the Service for any purpose other than creating resumes, cover letters, and related professional documents.
- Abuse the refund policy through repeated purchases and refund requests.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its source code, design, templates, user interface, graphics, logos, and all related intellectual property, is owned by Resumello and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use the Resumello name, logo, or branding without our prior written consent.
10. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party providers (including Stripe for payments, Convex for cloud storage, and Google for authentication). Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.
Future AI features may integrate with third-party AI model providers. When available, use of AI features will be optional, and you will be informed before any resume data is transmitted to an AI provider.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
Without limiting the above, we do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
- Any resume created with the Service will guarantee you a job interview or employment.
- The ATS scoring feature will accurately predict how a specific employer's ATS system will evaluate your resume.
- Exported documents will render identically across all PDF viewers, word processors, or ATS platforms.
The Service is a tool to help you create professional documents. Employment outcomes depend on many factors beyond the scope of a resume builder.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Resumello and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service, regardless of the cause of action or theory of liability (contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise), even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or fifty United States Dollars (USD $50), whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Resumello and its operator from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use of the Service.
- Your User Content.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights.
14. Account Termination
14.1 Termination by You
You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Voluntary account deletion does not entitle you to a refund outside of the 7-day refund window.
14.2 Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe that:
- You have violated these Terms or our Acceptable Use policy.
- You have engaged in fraudulent activity or initiated an unjustified chargeback.
- Your use of the Service poses a security risk to us or other users.
- Continued provision of the Service to you is no longer commercially viable.
14.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. We will make reasonable efforts to allow you to export your data before account deletion, except in cases of fraud or abuse. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law) will continue to apply.
15. Governing Law & Disputes
15.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
15.2 Dispute Resolution
Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute by contacting us at [email protected]. We will work in good faith to resolve the issue within 30 days. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, both parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario, Canada.
15.3 Consumer Protection
Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer protection rights that apply to you under the mandatory laws of your jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you retain any rights granted to you under EU consumer protection law, and nothing in these Terms affects those rights.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where practicable, notify existing users via email. Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service and request account deletion.
17. General Provisions
17.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Resumello regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
17.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
17.3 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
17.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, provided that the assignee agrees to honor these Terms.
17.5 Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, internet outages, or third-party service failures.
